Student Code of Conduct Policy – 学生守则

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

(Last Revised: Sep 7, 2023)

An effective disciplinary program is essential for the teaching and learning process. At Chang Cheng Chinese School (CCCS), we have established an educational environment where children can comfortably learn at their own level. Every student has the right to learn at CCCS without disruption or antagonism from other students.

We are committed to teaching traditional Chinese values alongside linguistic skills while reinforcing appropriate student behavior.

The following rules must be observed while students are on CCCS premises during school hours or participating in any CCCS-sponsored event. Disciplinary actions for violations of school/class rules may range from warnings and written warnings to expulsion from CCCS.

Arrival at School: When arriving at school, students should wait outside their classrooms until the class instructor is present. Parents should not leave their child in a classroom without the instructor’s presence.

Proper Greeting: Students should greet their instructor upon entering the classroom.

Classroom Conduct: Students should not disrupt the classroom with side conversations or roaming without the instructor’s permission.

Use of Electronic Devices: The use of cellular phones, tablet PCs, laptops, mobile gaming devices, MP3 music players, and similar devices is strictly prohibited during class.

No Food or Drinks in Class: Only water is allowed in classrooms. Snacks may not be consumed in class. Students eating snacks during recess outside of classrooms must dispose of wrappers and other garbage in the provided bins.

Loss Prevention: Students should not bring valuables to school, as CCCS will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Offensive and Disruptive Behaviors: Loud talking, standing or sitting on desks, and the use of profanity or offensive language are strictly prohibited.

Bullying: Bullying among students is strictly prohibited and will be dealt with immediately. Please refer to the “CCCS Anti-Bullying Policy” for more details.

Insubordination: Refusing to complete in-class assignments or disobeying instructor instructions is not allowed, and parents will be notified of each incident.

Recess Safety: Students should be mindful of safety during recess and avoid engaging in dangerous activities. Students must return to their classrooms promptly when recess ends. Roaming on the school grounds during class is prohibited. Initial courtesy warnings will be issued, and parents will be notified for the first occurrence. Repeated actions may result in disciplinary measures from the CCCS administration.

Stairs and Ramp Area Off Limits: Students and parents are not permitted to use the stairs and ramp access to the second-floor area at Will C. Wood Elementary School. Please refrain from playing in those areas at all times.

No Roaming During Class: Students may only use restroom facilities during emergencies with permission from the instructor. They should promptly return to their classrooms after using the restroom.

Use of Facilities: Students should not remove or use classroom tools or equipment other than those provided by CCCS, the instructor, or their own.

End of Class Clean-Up: At the end of each class, students should ensure that their desk area is free of garbage and debris, and the desk should be returned to its original position from the beginning of the class session.

Caution When Leaving School: When leaving the school premises, students should be mindful of traffic in the parking lot and exercise caution when going to their family vehicles.

Do Not Leave Children Unattended: Except for registered students attending classes, parents waiting on the premises should not leave their children unattended at any time.

Respect and courtesy toward others are important values in Chinese culture, and at CCCS, we fully embrace these values. Students are encouraged to consistently follow school/classroom rules, set a positive example for others, and always be mindful of how their behavior affects others.
